TIPMIP General Assembly, hosted by Future Earth/Earth Commission December 2024

We are delighted to share that, thanks to the generous support of Future Earth/Earth Commision TIPMIP will host another General Assembly in Dec. 2024, as a follow-up to our “Towards TIPMIP”, held last November near Berlin.

Understanding that it asks for many days potentially away from home, in order to limit the carbon footprint of those of us traveling in from outside the North American east coast, we have decided to host this year’s follow up–the “TIPMIP General Assembly, hosted by Future Earth/Earth Commission”–in conjunction with the AGU Fall Meeting in Washington, D.C. The meeting dates are 4.-7. December, and the location is Baltimore, Maryland (~50 mins by train from Washington).

The program will consist of three components: the scientific meeting (from Wednesday to Friday afternoon); a public TED-style seminar on tipping points (Friday evening); and an abbreviated meeting bringing together scientific experts, policymakers, members of the media, and funding agencies (Saturday). Attendance at both the scientific meeting (Wed. - Fri.) and the Saturday event will be limited and require prior application (for the scientific meeting) and registration (for the Saturday event). Please see the table below for specific deadlines and procedures.
